The Digby Town and Municipal Housing Corporation (Tideview Terrace) was incorporated by the Town and Municipality of Digby in 1971. Its purpose was to construct and operate a Home for Special Care in Digby. The Corporation is a nonprofit society.
Tideview Terrace opened its doors in December 1973 to 50 residents. In 1982, the home expanded by 29 residents. In February 1996 renovations were completed to the third floor of the Digby General Hospital to convert it to a 10-resident special care floor for people affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and related Dementia. In August 2011, we moved to a state-of-the-art new home boasting 9-bedroom resident houses, beautiful gardens, gazebo, and access to the beach. We are currently home to 89 residents, plus one room for respite stays.
Tideview Terrace is dedicated to the provision of an environment which emphasizes quality of life and encourages the growth of each member of its community. The residents are esteemed and entitled to the best supportive care, focusing on emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and physical well-being. The worth and dignity of residents are respected by all at Tideview Terrace.
Tideview Terrace is located in Digby, in a pleasant and quiet residential area close to all essential services. Our door is always open. Our commitment is to keep our residents secure, happy and content in their new home.
