Position Scope
The Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) is accountable to the residents for providing quality care. They work under the direction of the RN/LPN nursing staff. As a part of a multidisciplinary team the CCA meets the needs of the resident, while working within their scope of employment and within the framework, policies and objectives as set out by Tideview Terrace and the Department of Seniors and Long-Term Care.
Qualifications
Required:
- Approved Continuing Care Assistant Certification as per Department of Seniors and Long-Term Care policy.
- Medication module
- Active participation in learning opportunities of the Eden Alternative and organization
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player in an Eden Alternative environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in resident centered care.
- The ability to balance tasks with residents’ needs.
- Actively promotes activities that are meaningful to the residents’ needs.
- Demonstrated interest in building resident relationships with a commitment in obtaining simple pleasures along with an active involvement to achieve simple pleasures.
- Adaptable, responsible and takes initiative.
- Displays positive attitudes and behaviors.
- Displays problem solving and decision-making techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be able to perform duties that involve lifting, bending, and stretching and meet the overall physical and cognitive demands of the job.
- Outstanding work history inclusive of good attendance, demonstrated availability to work, available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays, and willingness to work all units in current and past employment.
